Sal's Pizza - Smithfield

I ordered food for pickup 20 minutes before closing and didn't know their close time. I worked in a restaurant so I know last minute orders are annoying so I call to cancel. The lady on the phone was nice and said it was okay and they take orders until 9pm on the dot. I should have known better. Whoever made my food dumped garlic over it so much it was like biting into a garlic clove. I have a stomach condition so this was like unintentionally poisoning me. I will be talking with a lawyer and have frozen the plate as evidence. Im out $65. $25 for the food and pretip. $40 for the medicine I have to buy. I used to recommend your restaurant for its top quality italian food. Even though this was a joke I grew up in this town and well known to thousands of people. Every person I meet is going to hear this story of how you intentionally messed with my food.

I ordered a pizza tonight. I requested that onions be added. They said no problem. Got home, no onions and the pizza dough was like rubber. It was impossible to cut. I had ask for a thin crust, but they said that did not do thin. This dough was about as thin as it could be and tough. To add insult when I called I ask for a manager and held for 15 minutes. When I called two hours later I ask for the manager. I am pretty sure I did not speak to a manager even though I ask her specifically if she was the manager. She paused a minute and said she was a manager. She did say she was sorry and offered me a coupon. I have gotten pizza here before and it was ok. Tonight, not ok.

I order delivery just about once a week. Everything is so good. Tonight we were blown away by their Sals Special Beef Steak Sub and a meatball sub. Both were hands down the best we've ever had. So good we had to share with each other it's awesomeness. A few weeks ago I was craving an authentic New York slice of pizza. I was able to order 1 slice and omg it hit home!!!! Long story long we continue to be satisfied with each meal. Meal type: Dinner
