Alfonso's Of La Jolla - Solana Beach

Great food here. Went last Friday and sat outside. Nice evening and excellent drinks. Add this place to your list for an easy-going atmosphere and great staff. There was a father and a son playing the music table side, which was a nice touch.

I have been going to Alfonso's of La Jolla since they opened in a back room of Jose's Mexican Restaurant on Herschel St in La Jolla in 1971. It is my favorite Mexican Restaurant. Their food is wonderful and they have great margaritas. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Their new location is nice because it is suited for large gatherings and social happy hours. When he makes an appearance, Alfonso, himself, goes around to each customer and greats them. I highly recommend trying this place. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Alfonso.

I've been a fan of this restaurant for more than 38 years. It's home to some of the best Mexican food in San Diego and is now located in Solana Beach. Give it a try!

Previously, during one of our visits to La Jolla, we hesitated to try the new location. However, I was hopeful that the food and the warmth of the staff would be the same. I’m happy to say I wasn’t disappointed. I can’t wait to go back. I loved it!

I'm not usually a fan of Tex-Mex cuisine (with all due respect), but I have to say that I had the best grilled vegetable quesadilla here. It struck the perfect balance between cheese, veggies, and salsa on top. Your fajitas were also excellent. The ambiance of the restaurant is truly inviting, and they make you feel right at home.
