Alfonso's Trattoria - Somerville

We meet up with a friend while driving through New Jersey and asked her to pick out a place to have lunch. She recommended Alfonso's and I'm glad she did! The food was so good! I loved that they had keto friendly options without having to make a bunch of requests! New Jersey is a long way from home, but if we were to go back, we'd definitely eat there again! I had the Vegetali which is vegetarian and keto friendly, but I had them add a slight amount of pasta to my meal. Dietary restrictions: Keto friendly options

The food is surprisingly good, service is what you expect from a family restaurant, quick and friendly.

I grew up eating here after soccer games and so on with friends and family. The food and service is still as great as I remember it to be, but I gotta say the atmosphere is killed by the Jersey Shore circa 2006, GTL, fist pumping, club thumping music. Weird for a family establishment.

Another place that used to be decent that is now awful! Ordered takeout last night. Two slices of pepperoni pizza and bowl of pasta fagioli. Charged me $5.00 extra for the plastic container that was not even full of the soup! Total of $12 for this garbage. Pizza was burnt and the pepperoni was just placed on top of the slices and not cooked within. Called to complain and the guy seemed to care less. Will never return!!

Great Italian Food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Excellent beer list, even on tap! One of our top favorites in downtown Somerville. Your can’t go wrong with the Italian dishes or their excellent pizza. Fair prices and nice sized portions for leftovers! Yum ?
