Alfonso's Trattoria - Somerville

I had my first experience at this charming local restaurant, and it was absolutely fantastic. We began our meal with some perfectly crispy calamari and tasty mini rice balls. For the kids, we ordered a cheese pizza, and they almost finished the whole thing! My wife and I shared a generous platter of linguine and clams, and yes, we finished it all. Our server, Mike, was exceptional. I definitely plan to return!

Walked in and ordered 2 large pies that were ready in 15 minutes. Not only were they prepared promptly, but they were delicious.

Another place that used to be decent that is now awful! Ordered takeout last night. Two slices of pepperoni pizza and bowl of pasta fagioli. Charged me $5.00 extra for the plastic container that was not even full of the soup! Total of $12 for this garbage. Pizza was burnt and the pepperoni was just placed on top of the slices and not cooked within. Called to complain and the guy seemed to care less. Will never return!!

Last Friday, July 26th, my wife and I stopped by for a bite to eat during the car show. We were seated at a high-top table in the bar area, and unfortunately, the service was disappointing. I ordered a glass of wine, which arrived, but it was only about 3 ounces, if that. I also ordered a pizza that took around 25 minutes to arrive. After inquiring about our food, the waitress brought out what seemed to be food that had been sitting on the counter for a while, as it was warm, not hot. My advice: it's better to save your money and dine at home than to deal with a place like this. — Denis Ference

Had some really great gluten free eggplant parmigiana and gf mozzarella sticks. Red sangria was delicious.
