West Coast Grill - Sooke

Went here on a Wednesday at 5:30 for the half price appetizersHad the calamari, 2 pound steamer pot, and the salmon tacos.

This is another case of looks can be deceiving The place has beautiful decor and the chairs are very comfy.

Came here at 11:45am for their all you can eat brunch for $21.95.

We enjoyed a delicious brunch on the balcony with a wonderful view of the ocean and a small harbour . A nice way to spend a Saturday morning . I would definitely go back. The menu had a good selection of items to choose from and my wild mushroom omelet was extremely tasty.

Two of us had dinner at The West Coast Grill on August 10th. We hadn't made a reservation so we had to sit at the bar, which was fine. It's a lovely bar. We both ordered the 10 oz. Steak with fingerling potatoes and veggies. I had red wine, a nice Shiraz. The atmosphere is nice and the view is likely stunning however we didn't have much of view from our location. Staff were friendly and efficient. The meal however was standard. My medium-rare steak was so close to too well done but the char was admirable. The veggies were lack-luster and the potatoes were mushy. There was no salt anywhere to be seen...although we were offered pepper. The steak was tender and the char tasty, but the menu was limited and certainly not for families. Overall, I'll give this restaurant a 7/10.
