Bidra med feedbackI was quite disappointed with my lunch experience at this diner. While I have been pleasantly surprised by their breakfast in the past with their affordable prices and generous portions, my lunch experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arriving, I noticed that there were only two tables being served and the waitresses seemed preoccupied chatting behind the counter. Though they were friendly, I encountered some issues when my food arrived. My burger was drenched in grease to the point where it was literally dripping with it when I picked it up. The bun was so soggy that it was falling apart, making it difficult to eat. Despite the taste being okay, the burger completely fell apart. Additionally, I didn't have enough napkins to dry my hands as they only provide one under the silverware. When I requested more water, the waitress seemed inattentive and continued chatting for several minutes before assisting me. It took another five minutes to get my water, even though the other tables had already received their food and hadn't asked for anything beforehand. Overall, I was not pleased with my lunch experience and do not plan on returning for lunch in the future. I recommend sticking with their pancake specials instead.
My experience at this restaurant was excellent from the beginning to the end! Katrina served me and made sure my order was prepared exactly the way I wanted. The atmosphere was cheerful, the food was good, and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely be returning soon.
I had been hearing great things about Sound Beach Diner for a while, but kept forgetting to try it. Finally, I went there to meet up with friends for breakfast and it was amazing! The staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The menu was interesting because they offer a-la-carte options as well as plate specials, allowing you to order exactly what you plan to eat and reduce food waste. The food we ordered was delicious and everything was perfect. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. The location is convenient for me, so I expect to visit often now that I know the rumors of its excellence are true.
The quality of the diner has declined since we moved here in 2019. When I called in an order for delivery, I was told that the driver had just left. When I asked if he was coming back, the response was that he would be back much later that night. Frustrated, I decided to pick up the food instead. I ordered a chicken pot pie and soup, while my husband ordered a Turkey bacon club with fries. When we got home, we realized that they forgot the fries. The chicken pot pie was a disappointment - it looked nothing like a traditional chicken pot pie. It was two pieces of bread toasted on top of loose chicken, peas, corn, and a small amount of gravy. The bread was tough to eat and the vegetables were undercooked. Overall, the meal was not worth the $32 we paid. We were both very disappointed with our experience.
We had a delightful breakfast at this restaurant. The eggs Benedict were exceptional, and the coffee was consistently fresh. Our waitress, Lorrie, provided excellent service in a cozy small-town setting. We definitely plan on returning when we pass through the area again.
