Volcano - South Bend

Vintage Italian restaurant with friendly and excellent service. The prices for the food are reasonable. I enjoyed an Italian beef sandwich with mozzarella cheese and French fries, and I was very satisfied with my experience. I would definitely return and recommend it to others.

Pizza and Lasagna are delicious. I dived and taken out, both experiences were good. I would recommend this place to anyone if you did not try it, so go in, call and order because you should no longer wait.

The pizza was excellent! I also tried the ravioli special, and it was fantastic. The wait staff was friendly, and I enjoyed my beer in a frosted mug. It doesn't get much better than that!

Came in with a group of 9. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Part of our order came out wrong and they completely re-did it without our asking. (We would have been fine with the mistake -it was partly miscommunication on our part). All in all friendly, great food, very nice experience.

Lucked out at Lunch!!! During a recent trip to the area for business, I found myself in a quandary. Many of the Restaurants that my lunch crew and myself like to visit were closed on Mondays. We went all the way from New Carlyle to the airport looking for a place to eat. One of the people in my group suggested Volcano, an Italian-Style eatery close to the airport. Off we went and luckily it was open. When I arrived, I went back in time a few decades, as this place has that older feel to it. Simplistically decorated but fully functional. We were fortunate enough to catch the tail end of lunch and were able to get seated right away. Once I perused the menu, our server suggested the Italian Beef sandwich with fries. I also got a side of gravy. Since we didn't have a whole lot of time I was on point as the sandwich and the other items arrived fairly quickly. The Beef was tender and juicy, the bread fresh and all that gooey cheese made a very pleasant lunch. Give Volcano a shot, I will go back for dinner when I'm in the area again to try some other items, as it is known as a local favourite.
