This charming little oasis with delicious food will now be a weekly destination for me. The background story is heartwarming. Sit outside in the well-kept garden or inside with the funky collection of chairs and tables, either will feed your soul.Food: 5/5
What a fun little place to visit! I really love the atmosphere here and the neat arrangement of different tables and the hydroponic plant station they had set up. I was really excited to try their smash burger and the tomato jam but they were out of that so I'll definitely be back to try that again. I added pickle and cheese and it was really good! My husband had cheesy BLT and added an egg. He seemed to enjoy it. I was blown away by the bacon that was on it and definitely looked really yummy. Both sandwiches served with Mr. Bee's potato chips and both of us had sweet teas to drink. I will definitely be going back and hope that they have the tomato jam in stock because I had never heard of that and it sounds really interesting. My husband told me they had outside seating after we had already ate so I will definitely be doing that next time too.
Unique lil spot that used to be a church. Farm to table ingredients. Wanted a break from chain coffee spots and this was a great find.Food: 5/5
Overall, Cafe Appalachia was excellent. The food was fresh and vibrant. The atmosphere was very pleasant. By converting what looks like used to be a church into a Cafe, it made a nice combination of modern and rustic. The coffee was good. My only caveat was portions. Particularly with the sides. I understand it's homemade sausage, and it eas delicious, but charging 3.50 for a single patty doesn't feel good. Beyond that everything else about this establishment is top notch. I wholeheartedly recommend it if you get the chance.
