Platform 1 Champagne Bar Restaurant

My friends and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday and tried the French onion soup and chateaubriand, which were absolutely amazing. We were so impressed that we came back two days later and had the same delicious meal. The quality was consistent and truly incredible. The restaurant is in a great location, with a fantastic menu and excellent service, especially from Costas who made us feel very special. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My experience at the restaurant on a peaceful Friday night in February was delightful. The decor was beautiful and created a lovely atmosphere. The staff were exceptional - extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was fantastic. Although we only had a starter and main course, we were too full for dessert. The recommended wine was also delicious. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in Dartmouth.

On a quiet Sunday evening in January, I was searching for a local restaurant that was open for dinner. I remembered having lunch at this place last summer and knew they were open all year round, seven days a week. So, I decided to return for dinner and I was not disappointed. The Glazed Beef Cheek I ordered was simply stunning. I had braised beef cheek at a Michelin Star restaurant in London in November, and if I were to rate both experiences out of 10, my London meal would be a 7 and the Embankment Bistro a 10. I ended my meal with a delicious Raspberry Cranachan that was well-balanced. The service was exceptional throughout. As a solo diner, I felt truly special and welcome. A big thank you to the entire team. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes from the menu.

The manager and staff were friendly and made sure we had a table as we hadn’t booked. The food was delicious especially the fish and was a good price. The atmosphere was really relaxing. I would highly recommend eating here.

I live in Dartmouth and took two visiting friends for dinner at the Embankment as I know its excellent reputation for both food and service. We had a fantastic evening both starters and main courses were delicious and we were all so full that we couldn’t manage desserts, which was a shame as they looked great. I ordered the beef cheek based on a recommendation from Kosta and it was amazing. We also asked for a wine recommendation and liked their suggestion so much we ended up getting through 3 bottles of it, so they clearly know their wines! Kosta and the team really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome. They also did the same for other diners, singing happy birthday to someone on the next table. As to location, Dartmouth is stunning and we’re lucky to have a few restaurants in lovely buildings and/or with good views, but none can compare with the view from the Embankment you’re as near to the river as you can get and the building is unique as the only railway station built that has never had a train arrive (good pub quiz fact! Overall, another fantastic visit, with great hospitality and service from Kosta and his colleagues and great food from chef Dimi thank you!
