China Cottage - South Lakeland

The food at this restaurant was fantastic. They offer a great variety of dishes at reasonable prices. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The salt and pepper ribs were outstanding and the best we have ever tried.

The Chinese cuisine at this restaurant is excellent. The seabass with black beans was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The dining area is simple and pleasant.

Located on the outskirts of Ambleside, this unassuming Chinese restaurant may resemble a take-out joint at first glance. However, don't let appearances deceive you. We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience here. The salt and pepper calamari was delicious, with a generous portion size and perfectly tender texture, enhanced by a flavorful mixture of salt and chili. The standout dish was the special, an eggplant and pork Szechuan dish that was simply wonderful. This restaurant is definitely a great alternative to the numerous pubs in Ambleside.

Needs a little separation between the takeaway and resteraunt. Aside from this service and staff spot on, food delicious.

When my wife and I visited this restaurant it was very quiet but please don't let this put you off eating here. We has a set meal for two which was delicious. I would certainly eat here again
