Bidra med feedbackThis is a family owned restaurant. There is a good menu selection, including vegetarian options and local Cumbrian produce is used. Efficient staff, prompt service and the food was good. There are private dining areas for larger groups and they prefer a pre-order if you make a booking for a large group (we were a group of 7). The hotel has a car park but this might be full. Try to find a space in the streets around the restaurant (note the one way system). There is a public car park on Broad Street.
Last minute decision to have dinner here on a Sunday evening before heading off on long journey home and was not disappointed. We had eaten here before but not since the new dining area and outdoor terrace opened. Service was friendly and the food was top notch. Jay Raynor has given this place a great review for Sunday lunch and we could see why so will definitely have to go back to try it. Diners next to us were tucking into the biggest Yorkshire pudding I've ever seen!
The new bar at the lamplighter is amazing it certainly has the wow factor and Jacob always makes you welcome
Well i love fish my fish was to big for me to finish you get a lot for your money the servis is great and on some nights you get live folk music i must say i did enjoy this
We came here, without a booking, on Easter Saturday night. At first we were quite nervous, as the dining room is quite elegant and refined, with beautiful chairs etc, so we were anxious that although we were clean, we felt that we might be underdressed, after a day touring the Lakes. But it was a lovely, friendly experience, with very nice food, and pleasant attentive staff. A very enjoyable night.
