Bidra med feedbackWe found the place accidently as we had missed our turning .. and so glad we did . The locals were very warm and friendly as were the staff and people that owned it . The food was great value and they had a great choice if drinks . To top it off .. there is even a camping /touring site ... will be thinking of coming here again when iwe are next down this way .Thankyou to all at the Brooke Inn
The staff including Jo front of house were very friendly and polite. The food made up with genuine local produce was second to none. The taste was excellent. Highly recommended for a visit when passing or staying local.
Not welcoming at all. Walked through the door to be barked at. No dogs allowed? In this day and age get real. We were only buying a drink to sit outside. Bye
We visited after recently moving to the area, and seeing great reviews and wanting to get to know our local pub. We were quite disappointed to say the least, fizzy drinks were far from fizzy and the syrup was little to none they were visibly flat as anything. The food was average but enjoyable, and decent portions, pretty much you get what you pay for. Baffled by being informed that the cheesecake is served ‘semi frozen’…I have never ever heard of cheesecake being served frozen let alone semi frozen…awfully bizarre and wasn’t edible since frozen solid to the extent you could tap it with a fork and make a noise…so took home to defrost, we were the only others eating, it was a shame since it is so nearby. Maybe we shall try again sometime, perhaps we went on an off day.
The Sunday roast at this restaurant is excellent and offers good value for money. The staff are welcoming and provide large servings with prompt service. They were also very accommodating to our 3-year-old toddler, providing a crayoning set for her. The pub has a cosy and warm atmosphere with a roaring log fire. However, the decor in the pub toilet areas and play area outside is a bit outdated and could use some refurbishment in the near future. The pub touring park is conveniently located near various local attractions such as Cheddar, the Haynes Motor Museum, and the market town of Castle Cary with its train station.
