Kachina - Southampton

Whilst the delivery was fast and efficient that is where the good points ended. the ribs although tender had some kind of non-descript sauces on them and we couldn’t tell which flavour was which I do not recommend the capital spareribs or barbecue spareribs. The...crispy wontons had a small sliver of mushroom and one single Beanshoot with some kind of brown sauce and that was it. The spring rolls were non-descript crunchy pieces of filo pastry. The Sesame prawn toast however was okay but soggy. Whilst I was hungry and ate most of my spare ribs (which was two portions) the Mrs couldn’t eat any of hers and they’ve gone in the bin. This used to be my go to place when I was drinking in Shirley but sadly it seems to have changed chefs and I cannot recommend you dine in this establishment.

Received as a takeaway. Whilst delivery times were efficient, that is all that was good. My rating of is being generous as you can’t put any less. Chow mien probably one of the easiest things to make was appalling. You could get noodle meal deal in Tesco throw some chicken in and have a nicer meal for less of the price. Satay sauce was runny. The prawn crackers were stale. Only other good thing was the off on Uber Eats. I’d be livid if I had to pay full price. Save yourself the hassle. First last for this place.

Used this restaurant often years ago and the food and service were excellent.Not now.Decided to go for the buffet.The starters were tasteless,satay sauce watery,spicy chicken not spicy.All the starters tasteless.On to the duck which was cold and chewy.Did not bother with the main course and...paid up and left never to return and would say to others,give this restaurant a miss.

We came here for a birthday meal. it was very quiet with excellent fast service and delicious food. beautiful atmosphere and very pleased we came here. we were very fully appreciated after our starters so that we could order a pudding instead of a main....We would definitely recommend.

Having been a big fan of Kachina when I lived locally to the restaurant, I decided to treat the family to our old Chinese fave. Well, what can only be described as the worst food I have ever received turned up. There was zero flavour...on anything, prawn dish which is supposed to be with peppers and chillies and at least a whole onion chopped up to make it appear like there was a lot of food. The prawns were not cooked at all , the chips were reheated from about days a go Id say! The chow mein…. the noodles had nothing on them nothing! It was as if they were pulled from a pot noodle and shoved in the container , I’ve never seen or tasted anything like it. It’s such a shame , Kachina used to be lovely food and the best Chinese in Southampton. Not only is it terrible food but it was very expensive . chucked in the bin. Hope they sort it out and it goes back to its former glory- Until then . AVOID!
