Founders Tavern - Southold

Nice local watering hole- restaurant. Very good French onion soup, chicken dumplings, and fried shrimp. Moderately priced menu. Select from burgers, hand helds, catch of the day. Founders is a change of pace from the overpriced, understaffed restaurants on the north fork. Try Founders, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

As a starter, we opted for the Chicken and Lemongrass dumplings, and let me tell you, they were absolutely divine! They're delicately steamed and served in a zesty ginger glaze, accompanied by a Thai dipping sauce. They're so delicious, you don't even need the dip! The marinated filet mignon steak tips also never fail to impress – they're consistently tender and bursting with flavor, making them a must-have every time we dine here. As for the main course, we invariably choose the baby back ribs. Good ribs are hard to come by in New York, but this spot has by far the best ones on the North Fork! The prices are reasonable, the cocktails consistently deliver on flavor, and the service is consistently excellent... all in all, just exceptional across the board.

One of the few restaurants in Southold that is regularly open year round. Good for families.

Cozy little place for dinner with the family. Kids and such welcome. Bar separated from dinning area. Service get a little rushed.

For small town, Tavern, and restaurant, this is a real gem. The weight staff are great, the service is terrific, and the food is of high-quality. We live in the same town, and if we were a night out without stress, and expecting delicious food, this is our destination.
