Bidra med feedbackGood restaurants are busy and you need to book in Spello. A not busy place is usually rubbish and this proved the point. A waiter who resorted to shouting as a way of dealing with foreigners, food with out of season ingredients tinned or ? , and lamb grilled to a frazzle. Prices the same as a good place. Don’t bother, have a wine and gelato instead.
Great and very tasty home made food. Everything we choose was good: various types of pasta and cakes. Very reasonable prices too.
Spello is one of the prettiest towns in Umbria and we saved it until our last day. A huge choice of places to eat despite it being slightly out of season but this place and its sister eating house, Trattoria Pizzeria is where we landed at lunchtime for something to eat. A litre caraff of wine for 8 euros set us on the right path. Despite the menu being in Italian with no English translation and a waiter that had no English we finished up with a wonderful two course lunch. There were just three dishes of the day to choose from and what her husband produced was really excellent using many local herbs picked off the mountains nearby. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and shared by many locals who popped in.
A bit underoccupied, but a wonderful location and wonderful place to have a cappuccino and take the beauty when one of the most amazing cities in Umbria. spello is a picturesque Umbrian town near the most famous city assisi in the province of Perugia. this medieval city is surrounded by walls and today, is probably the most famous for its famous flower festival, the infiorata.
Great place to stop for a coffee or a snack while in spello. Much sits inside and outside.
