Toad`s serves the sweetest delicious coffee I found. It significantly improved my health through the third cup. Through the cosiness of the place and great conversation, Jim, the owner/operator has become a great friend. My granddaughter loves it because he has toys with which he has whistled himself. I know I'm drinking an old coffee, but not anymore. I buy half a pound of Brazilian or Guatemalan or Tanzania once a week. There will be a big hole in my soul, he should close.

Rare Find.... Passing through, taking the Long But Good Route...US71 from Missouri to northern Minnesota...stopping in Spencer 's downtown main avenue...accidentally found Toad 's. Initial appearance almost left me assuming 'closed ' and not going in...but am so glad I did. A rare place in our world economy: local coffee, internet, informal used books and filled with Stuff...and wood furniture repair. Comfortable to just sit and hang out with an excellent mocha...Toad does know his coffee, and takes the time and care to make it Right. Spencer has a rare gem amidst the proverbial conservative Main Street fare.

Best coffee ever. Just tried the Tanzania dark roast from the Toad, amazing espresso, try it with whipped cream (espresso con-pana) superb! note to self; Toad's roasts Kosher beans (mighty fine) Found a nice book for cheap!! Had a great game of battleship, (lost)
