Khi Eli's Food For The Soul

First time going there. It was really nice and clean inside. The young lady who helped us was sooo nice! It didn’t take that long for the food to come out and she was nice enough to bring it over to us. The ribs were delicious, seasoned well and w bbq sauce. The chicken wings were amazing, seasoned well, fried perfectly and meat was juicy. The meat was not skimpy at all and neither were the plates. The max and cheese was gas. Creamy and cheesy. The mashed potatoes with gravy like nothing I’ve ever had before! It was fire. To our surprise there was rice under the meat and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned so good. The whole entire plate was gas. I deff recommend this restaurant. 5/5 I will deff go again. Also when I called them they answered first ring.

Food was delicious and portions were good. And the young lady at the register was very patient as I can be indecisive.

I got the large fried porkchop meal,the two side I got were baked mac&cheese and the green,and it comes with rice and gravey. I also got two additional side which were potato salad and the yams. Let's start with the potato salad it was too sweet for my liking and bland. The yams had way too much nutmeg and cinnamon they were ok plus my 9 month old loved them. The mac and cheese could of used more cheese and more seasonings,it wasn't that bad after I added salt and pepper. The greens were just a bit vinegary but with added salt pepper and hot sauce they were ok. The porkchops were good as heck the only down fall is there were on top of the rice and gravey and one side became soggy. I would recommend putting the rice and gravey in its own container so the meat doesn't get wet and soggy.To be honest I was expecting more from a black owned business. The food needs more flavor thats the only flaw.

I went there with my girlfriend, they ran out of rice. How does a soul food spot run out of rice. And then they charged us fill piece and didn’t even tell us they ran out of rice until after we received our food. Other than that the food is good. But I’m still very dissatisfied that this happened. Bad business. ??

Lunch at khi and eli's!! You gotta craving home cooked food but don't wanna be in the kitchen. Stop here and get your fill ???The restaurant itself has a great feel and vibe. Food is prepared to order and takes like grandma's cooking. I loved it so much I hired them for catering of a birthday party. Over 80 people we catered with fried chicken breast thighs legs and wings, candy yams, baked ham to die for, potato salad collard greens with plenty of meat for flavoring, baked mac and cheese .the meal was delivered and set up perfectly on our buffet table.
