Sam's Southern Eatery - Springfield

I hadn’t eaten at Sam’s for over a year and decided to grab some dinner on my way home tonight. I should’ve known to leave when my shoes were sticking to the floor, but the young man working was very welcoming and helped me decide what to order. I waited quite a while and the food came out HOT. Little did I know until I got home that it was all burnt, hard as a rock, and nasty. The fries were like they set there all day and they just refried them. Everything melted the styrofoam containers. The catfish was the only edible food. When I called to let them know how bad it was the guy working said he didn’t know what to say to me. I just suggested that he suggest the cook to change the oil, serve fresh food, and not fry everything to death. He called me back a few minutes later and said the cook told him I ordered too much food! And when I come back they’ll remake part of my food. No thank you sir. Go to Mimi’s! Don’t waste your money here. It’s awful. I went to Mimi’s 1st and they were out of catfish which is the only reason I ended up at Sam’s.

I had it delivered an they didn't send me part of my order, part of it was wrong. Was a very bad experience. They sent me ranch for my fish instead of tartar sauce as well. The fish was borderline on not being cooked completely.Food: 1/5

I would have given all five star had the hallway and bathroom door and bathroom in mens needed serious attention, bathroom Door is covered with grease and Dirt. But outside of that everything else was awesome, food was great staff was friendly.Food: 5/5

Our server was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, that was the best thing about eating here. ? We spent over $60 for 3 of us to eat, the mozzarella sticks were mostly empty of the cheese, the chicken tenders were tough and inedible, the fish was incredibly overcooked and was mush in the breading, the Mac and cheese and beans and rice were both gross. My kid could eat the fries, but that was it. My husband ordered the Garden Salad and it consisted of iceberg lettuce, quartered tomatoes, a handful of pickles, an entire sliced cucumber and a sliced lemon. I would not recommend eating here, you'd be better off at McDonald's.

This has to be one of the worst restaurants that I’ve ever eaten at in Springfield, Missouri. Me and my husband went there last night and the restaurant was filthy. We had to take a paper towel and wipe down the seats because the seats were covered, and I mean covered in food. Our shoes were sticking to the floor as we walked across it to be seated. The food came out hot and fresh, which was nice, but the food was not eatable. The only thing decent we ordered was the fries but they were so heavily salted I couldn’t eat them. The crab cakes were nothing but filler, no crab meat. The fried catfish was not eatable. The breading on the catfish had like a rubber texture. It was really odd, and again, overly salted. I ordered grilled shrimp. We got the grilled shrimp 15 minutes after we got the rest of our food. I will say in all fairness that the grilled shrimp was decent and it was not overly seasoned. I would not recommend this place in any form or fashion. The health department needs to go check this place out because it was filthy. The customer service here is nonexistent. The young man that helped us acted like he wanted to be somewhere else but there.
