Smokehouse Café - SPRINGRANGE

I was really excited to go here, but at the arrival they had already made a mistake with our booking. it was finally corrected. it took a very long time for someone to approach us at all. the food was average. even though the meatboard was good. good local wine at a decent price. I asked about butter three times, did not come for the whole meal. they have tried too many tables in, and there are them limited space as well as very loud overall it is very over price, it is too cramped, it is worth not to visit. I have given 2 stars, if possible I would have given 1.5

Luckily we managed to get a table as it was last min decision as we passed on the way to Canberra but I would definately recommend booking.We really enjoyed our meals - I had Brioche with caramelised apple, oh so good and a huge serve that I couldn't manage but my partner gladly finished it off somehow after his delish big brekky !!! service was very good and friendly even though they were SO busy.The setting and whole vibe of the place is lovely, next time I'm hoping to try the share platters - they sound amazing !

The pairing of the food with local truffles was outstanding - it was one of the best restaurant meals i had in the last year - and we have been to a number of restaurants in Canberra in that time. Thank you so much Chef!We enjoyed the matching wines - only point for me would be to have the first wine served with the amuse bouche instead of having to wait for the entree.

I was there recently with a large group. It was also over a busy lunch service so if I HAD to complain about anything it would be that the staff were a little stretched in their service. Otherwise, the food was amazing, I had smoked meats paired with wines as a wine tasting then the poached eye-fillet for a main. Of course I had to grab some smoked mussels and cheese from the cool room to take home with me.
