Bidra med feedbackI love this legendary restaurant, my experience has been awesome. The food is hot, delicious and everything is homemade. The staff is amazing and friendly. I would give more than five stars I would give 10 stars. This is how fantastic this place is. I’m travelling from Sherwood park to St. Albert, just so that I can have this fantastic food.
I tried this restaurant on the recommendation of an industry colleague and in all likelihood, I won't be in a hurry to return.As with almost all my reviews, it's the staff who make or break the customer service experience. Unfortunately our waitperson was not having a good day and the service reflected such. I had a better time interacting with the people at the next table.I'll let you visit and let your experience shape your own view.Parking: Ample amounts of parking.
As a Celiac, this restaurant does a decent job of providing Gluten Free breakfast.I have enjoyed many meals over many years at Socrates.During my recent visit, I requested GF toast and was told that the “up charge “ would be $4:50!!Yes $4:50 added cost for two slices of toast, it’s really unfair.I complained and the additional cost was reduced back to $1:00.This may reflect the “ up charge “ that should be offered as a normal protocolThis is not about the cost, it’s about being fair. After all, it’s often the person with the “ special diet” who decides where to enjoy a meal with friends.
First time ever coming in it was amazing. Staff is awesome, a young gentleman had just started his shift when we arrived, he clocked in immediately sat us. I will be coming back for sure bringing friends.Happy Canada Day ??
EDIT: My review indicated I was aware the special was for a limited time only which why I checked before we went. Don 't make it sound like I didn 't know that because, again, I checked that morning and it was still on your website which the waitress made YOU aware of AFTER we asked about it. My breakfast WASN 'T removed from the bill I paid AND left a tip because our waitress was very pleasant and I know it wasn 't her fault I received hard medium poached eggs TWICE. Had it been comped, I wouldn 't have the complaints I do! Lastly, it WAS NOT busy the Wednesday afternoon we were there so just accept it and forget about making excuses.A friend and I went in for their 35th anniversary special today and were disappointed with everything but the service. I checked before we went to ensure it hadn 't ended because it was limited time only . It was still on the website so I incorrectly assumed it was available. We were told that it had ended and when I mentioned it was still being advertised, thinking they would honor their offer, I was told it was over. We ended up ordering breakfast off the menu and our meals were AWFUL! My medium poached eggs were hard, our shredded potatoes were cold and greasy mini french fries, the bacon was SO overcooked, there was NO flavour left. I ended up sending mine back and the potatoes came back even greasier (although hot) and the eggs were still hard. I 'm surprised their cook didn 't know medium poach shouldn 't have the yoke cooked solid but I ate half of my meal anyway. My companion was surprised the manager didn 't visit our table as she knows many owners and managers who should have an idea what is happening in their own establishment.
