Bidra med feedbackEvery now and again you come across something different. La Casa del Pane is one of these discoveries. Primarily a family run bakery who have taken on-board the addition of “coffee and cake” market as well.On busy Magill Road, it can be bypassed. Entering the bakery, the first thing to notice is the racks of freshly baked Mediterranean style bread, the pizza slabs and a welcoming smile. The service is leisurely which just suits this home-style venture. My order is my normal flat white is ordered and a slice of baklava. My guest for coffee this morning passed on the baklava but ordered a steak pie. Seating in the store is basic and there are a couple of tables street-side. Orders are delivered and look inviting. The baklava was firm yet delicious capturing flavours I recall from previous servings elsewhere. The coffee, although lacking the presentation of a more skilled barista, was pleasantly surprising. Full of flavour, smooth and hot – which, for me, left many more upmarket bakeries I have been too for dead. The steak pie according to my guest was flavoursome with suitable amounts of beef and balanced with a good gravy – his verdict “I haven’t one as good as this for a long time and leaves some more well-known notable Adelaide bakeries behind.”Parking for this bakery is behind the property and would suggest checking a satnav or directory prior to visiting, if you haven’t been there before.Return? Definitely.
Now does Afghan food and it doesn't disappointI no longer have to travel to Prospect/South Rd for a decent Afghan meal.
Went it to buy bread $3.80, she asked for $4.20!! I said price says 3.80, her reply we charge 40c to slice.. I won't be back, heading to brumbys
My friends used to be absolutely obsessed with this place, and would literally go on and on about it.
Although La Casa del Pane is on the opposite side of the city from where I live, I always make a point to stop by for their delicious pizzas whenever I am in the area. Their tomato base sauce has a unique and flavorful taste that I can't get enough of, especially on their Margherita pizza. Additionally, their artichoke pizza is a personal favorite of mine. If you opt for the party size pizza, it is sure to be a hit with any crowd.
