Bidra med feedbackOne of the worst meals I’ve had. The steak both me and my guest ordered were pink and very tough, we ordered medium and they were definitely not. The staff were not very friendly and to be honest did not seem well trained. At almost £100 for two steaks we would definitely expect better. The quality of the food was horrible. To expand. They took a drink order from my guest but forgot about myself until I asked them for a drink. We have to ask them for steak knifes.. when my guest complained to the manger that he had asked for his steak to be cooked medium and both are steaks were tough and not medium he replied staying the chef suggests the steak to be medium, both me and my guest looked at each other in pure confusion as anybody could see neither of the steaks were cooked to medium.. one really annoying part was when we were done three different members of staff came up and asked us what was wrong with our meal.. so weird and just not professional. They did remove the 12.5% service charge .. but I’m still thoroughly disappoint, the bill came to £130 for two starters, two steaks and one beer..
I would have really loved to give a positive review here, but after my recent dealings with the hotel, it 's safe to say I won 't ever be visiting through choice after the appalling customer service I have received (or not received I should say! from the hotel manager. Gift voucher bought for a very special birthday, expired last year, under no circumstances can it be honoured for my booking in October this year even though two additional paying guests were supposed to come along too, had to chase the hotel for an answer after being told the hotel manager would call me within 24 hours and a firm 'NO ' with absolutely no negotiation for an alternative option. Not impressed at all considering the circumstances we have all faced over the last 18 months. On a positive note, Olivia from dining reservations was a delight to deal with, it 's a shame the same can 't be said for management!
Looks great, falls short where it counts. I probably would have rated the hotel itself if it weren't for a bad experience at the onsite grill. Our first room, the AC didn't work. Our second room the lights flickered constantly, the sunroofs didn't open, the floor creaked everywhere like your grandmother's attic, and the shower was cold for 10 full minutes. The grounds are lovely. Truly looks amazing even in the rain when we were there. The grounds and building look VERY luxurious. The staff was ambivalent and lacking.
Spent a long weekend with family. One of the best stays we have had in the UK. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests. The hotel is amazing, the outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi are great for nearly any weather, and the gardens are breathtaking. Short drive from London. Can't wait to go back.
Quite simply...stunning. An imposing Elizabethan lodge which has been sympathetically extended to produce a wonderful mid sized country house hotel. The heated outdoor pool gives you childhood nostalgia (in a good way) and the sprawling formal gardens ebb away the stresses of every day life. Attentive service in the restaurants and a lovely vibe in the cocktail lounge. The latest edition to the Alexander House Hotel portfolio takes it from strength to strength.
