Café José - Stamford

My first day in Stamford and I were happy enough to stumble over Cafe' Jose. Wonderful food! Wonderful service! I come back several times a week.

Cafe Jose serves the best empanadas in Stamford. Their menu features a variety of flavors, including Chicken Burrito, Guava and Cheese, Ham and Cheese, Spinach and Chicken, Beef, Chorizo, and Pork. I appreciate the straightforwardness and quality of the service here. The prices are quite reasonable and significantly lower than those at most restaurants in downtown. The portions are incredibly generous—one dish can easily satisfy two people. Aside from the soda, everything is served hot. The wait times are short, and the café can accommodate up to 30 patrons at a time. I believe it won’t be long before this place experiences rapid growth. Highly recommended!

This restaurant offers excellent value and is a fantastic addition to downtown Stamford, especially with its diverse selection of Latin dishes alongside tapas, Mexican, and Peruvian cuisine. I tried the chicken soup, which was made with real chicken and potatoes—absolutely delicious! I also ordered the roasted rice with chorizo and chicken, and I would definitely get it again. The owner and the staff were very warm and welcoming.

The food here is excellent and made from scratch. José personally takes care of everything. I'm a fan of the roasted chicken; it's truly wholesome comfort food. Plus, they don't use plastic utensils, which makes it eco-friendly!
