Bidra med feedbackWith a limited menu, the Beer Garden can still impress. The atmosphere outside is a bit casual for the price of the menu. But all appetizers are fantastic. I normally get the filet, which is served with sweet potato fries (the best I've ever had) and a veggie kabob. Once when they were out of filets, I had to order the strip steak which wasn't nearly as good as the filet. The craft beer selection is good, although often the waiters don't know what's on tap as it changes frequently and the beer list isn't ever really up to date.
I 'd give it less stars if I could but that 's not much of a review. It was our anniversary and we 're beer lovers. After hearing Gordon Ramsey had been here we wanted to try it out. First impressions were horrible. No signage, no one greeted us. We walked into what we thought was the right place to see a lounge lizard atmosphere with no tables set. Turns out it was the right place. First clue... A scraggly waiter approached us and invited us to sit. Gave us a delicious looking menu but the beer list was 6 brews long and 4 you can buy at Walmart! Where was the craft beer?! It was cold so we sat inside but the atmosphere was terrible. Very dark and dungeonesq. Loud too! He then returned to tell us 4 signature dishes were unavailable. The menu only has like 12 things. Again, bad sign. After waiting another 10 min with no attention at all, we left. If they 're serving Bud Light and out of their own signature dishes, it 's just another crappy hotel lounge!
We came here on a rainy Saturday night so the outside patio was closed. We had one of their beers on tap in the dining room of the Hotel Chester the garden is associated with. The area had a nice tasteful ambience and we enjoyed our short visit there.
Two adults and a psycho toddler (hungry tired and cranky) received excellent service. Waitress even brought us a banana and extra ice to help appease the little beast. Beer Battered Fish and Chips were excellent. Hamburger decent but others in town are better.
This place has a fantastic selection of beer and a wonderful food menu. I will definitely come back next time I come to Starkville!
