Sayori - Staten Island

It was late, and Sayori was the closest Asian restaurant available, so we didn’t expect much from sushi in a strip mall. We were completely surprised! The food was excellent, and while the atmosphere feels like it’s from the early 2000s, that didn’t bother us. The menu isn’t strictly Japanese and features some Chinese dishes as well. The sushi was fresh and served in generous portions. Definitely try the salmon and ika! The vegetarian member of our group enjoyed the fried rice and vegetable tempura roll, both of which were delicious. The service was fantastic. This place is a must-visit!

If you're looking for average food and poor service, this is the place for you. Expect to wait 30 minutes for the server to take your order and another 30 minutes to receive the check. The restaurant wasn't even busy, and the staff seemed perpetually confused. I ordered the pork katsu bento box, but the rice was dry—how do you mess up rice? The katsu was also thin and dry. Honestly, you could buy frozen katsu, air fry it, and it would taste better than what they offer here.

Best sushi place. Has been around for 30+ years. Reasonable pricing, fish is always fresh. Small cozy place, welcoming atmosphere, wonderful staff great service. recommend every sushi lover should come here

The sushi is excellent for the price. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We always order the California rolls and the chicken tempura. I highly recommend this place if you live in the area.

I give this restaurant a full 5 out of 5 stars! The food is fresh and top quality. The service is excellent. If you're looking for a great lunch spot, you won't find a better place. The dishes are presented perfectly, making every meal a delight!
