Bidra med feedbackComing from Southern California ...I know good Mexican food! And this is it! Atmosphere is great- decor is amazing with each chair painted differently, dia de los muertos, etc Great cocktail de camaron, fajitas, y tacos, tortillas to die for!!! Meliza was our waitress she was fabulous and knew the food!!!! We'll definitely be back .
Senor tequila is now a hookah smoking lounge!! Try their Fajitas with a hookah and a Margarita!!
This is the second time I've visited Senior Tequilas and I can't understand why. First and foremost, since I'm sitting at the bar, I do kinda expect an attentive bartender that is ready to refill my frosty beverage at a moments notice. However, that is not the case here. Despite the mariachis in the background, another employee and friend cussing away in Spanish, and the over the top decor; she felt necessary to go on a vacation of her own. Next, this place smells cleaner than a hospital. Seriously. The delicious scent of pine sol or something similar to it just doesn't jive with the flavor of my beer. I'd rather come home from the bar smelling of smoke instead ofsmelling like a pine cone. Plus at least my gf will know I was a bar and not trying to cover something up by rubbing myself with one of those car deodorizers. Check this out...recently revisited to give them another chance and got a bill for 18 bucks with a recommended 20% tip of 6 plus dollars. Nice math senior Tequila's.
Wow, does anybody actually work here? Summary in a nutshell: Food is pretty good, but service is extremely S L O O O O W and inattentive, and I question the cleanliness of the restaurant. My family is from New Mexico and San Diego, and I love Mexican food, especially anyplace with mole poblano mole con pollo. I was excited to give this new Mexican restaurant a try. My wife and I went on a Tuesday night. As we drove up, we wondered if they were closed because it seemed dark and we didn't see any people inside until we got very close. Walked in the front door and there was no host or hostess to greet us or seat us at a table. We waited for a minute and a passing server asked how many. We said 2 and she sat us at a table near the front windows. The menu is a pretty large double sided sheet of cardboard, and appeared to have some residue of spilled food dried salsa spills. All the menu section headings are in Spanish, and all the names of the dishes are in Spanish. So if you don't speak Spanish, you're going to spend some time reading every description to figure out what every item on the menu is. That being said, my wife and I had read the entire menu front and back, were ready to order, set the menus aside, and still had not seen a server come to our table. A few minutes later, a server came with chips and salsa and asked what we would like to drink. We said we were ready to order. We each ordered a water to drink and a bowl of guacamole to share. My wife ordered a burrito, and I ordered the enchiladas poblanas. Quite a while passed. The chips and salsa were very good, but the salsa came in a very small bowl that we finished off very quickly. We asked the server for more salsa when she delivered the bowl of guacamole. Again, quite a while passed. Guacamole was very good, but it was soon all gone, and she never brought us another bowl of salsa, or our waters. My wife and I talked and the time passed. What seemed like an unusually long period of time passed, and another server brought our entrees to the table. Note that we still haven't received the waters we ordered at the beginning. My enchiladas poblanas looked and tasted dry like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while waiting for a server to bring them to our table. Even though they were dry, they tasted pretty good. I bet they would have tasted better fresh. My wife said the menu needs more detail in the description. If she had realized they were going to smother the burrito in red sauce, she would have asked them to hold the sauce. Also, she would have told them to hold the beans, too. We were about half way done eating our entrees when the server brought our waters to the table. We finished eating our entrees, and then sat there for a while waiting for a server again. At one point, I looked at my watch and noted the time because my wife had a meeting to go to. After checking my watch, another 5 minutes elapsed before the server came to our table and asked if she could get us anything else. I said no, just the check. She brought the check almost right away. I wish I had just handed her the credit card instead of reading the bill. I put the credit card in with the check mere seconds after she walked away. Another 6 minutes elapsed after that and she walked by our table 3 times without picking up our check to go run the credit card. So, as I said in my summary at the top, very slow, very inattentive service. Food was pretty good. If you're not in a hurry to go anywhere, then you might try it out for the food.
This restaurant is awesome! The food is very tasty, authentic Mexican flavors. The margaritas are very strong love it. The chile relleno has so much flavor and quesadillas are so good! The molcajates are the best! This is not the usual tex mex restaurant that you are used to. It has better food and selections! Update 4.13.18: We decided to go to Senor Tequila for dinner on a Friday before 5 pm. And we had to walk away they werent busy at all but we were seated for about 10 mins and we werent even given a water or chips. There were 3 waitress upfront on their phones or if not hugging ppl coming in. We walked away and went to los toltecos instead. And this is not the first time this happened to us, 2 wks ago we were at the restaurant and waitress took our order after 20 mins we were there. It was the day they had the mariachi band dont think they even know that we were there! I cant stand this restaurant anymore! Service is really gone bad! Not coming back.
