Ordered Walleye finger which were very tasty and Mac and Cheese pizza which was good but could have had a little more bite to the cheese, some cheddar or Asiago. We liked the candied jalapeños that give it a little hotness! Customer service was great. We?ll definitely go back!
The rooftop offers a lovely view, but the bar food portions are quite small and typical. It seems to be more focused on attracting a nightlife crowd for drinking and dancing.
The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we ended up waiting an hour for a tasty burger that was unfortunately undercooked, along with some stale fries. Since we had already settled our bill before our meal, and noticed a nearby table being served fresh fries, I decided to return my fries for a new batch. The bartender and waitress were very kind, cheerful, and accommodating throughout our visit.
About 30 minutes later, the owner, Heidi, came in and reprimanded me— the bride— in front of all my guests, stating that the bar wasn’t ready and that no one was allowed in the Portside area. I attempted to explain our situation, hoping for some understanding, but she reluctantly allowed us to stay with the condition that none of our guests could order anything from the bar, not even water. Throughout the night, she repeatedly expressed her frustration, saying, “this is why I don’t do weddings.” Heidi was consistently rude to my guests, making it clear she was unhappy about hosting a wedding. I was embarrassed as she publicly admonished me multiple times for various things. My guests even took it upon themselves to check in on me and support me when she was belittling me in front of everyone, which speaks volumes about the situation. The fact that she didn’t pull me aside to calmly express her concerns was astounding. We paid thousands of dollars for what we hoped would be a wonderful micro-wedding, but the accommodations we received were far from satisfactory. The venue itself is beautiful, but working with Heidi and the bar manager throughout the planning process was incredibly frustrating. Every time I had a question, I was often directed back and forth between Heidi and the bar manager, John, with little to no timely responses for weeks. While they did make last-minute arrangements to move our wedding indoors the day before, given the forecast, the overall experience left much to be desired.
All right! We had the Tuna Poke, Coconut Shrimp and the mushroom Fondue Burger. All three were delicious! The presentation on the Tuna Poke was amazing, not to mention the amount of food we have!! I loved the taste of coconut shrimp! I could eat endless amounts of them. And the burger was one of the best burgers my husband ever had. This is my new favorite place.
