Bidra med feedbackI have been coming to the Poconos for many years and my favorite restaurant, since 2000, is the Stone Bar Inn. In all of the years that we have been coming to this place, there has not been a single dish that was a disappointment. The Game dish, with Venison, Duck and the Boar sausage is a personal favorite. Even the side salads are fantastic.
Honestly, I loved almost everything about my experience here. The food was amazing, my server was sweet and talkative, the host was great, the ambiance was comfortable and warm. The only issue I had was that, when my entire arrived, I found a small hair in the sauce at the far side of my dish. Because it was only in a bit of the sauce and didn 't affect the food (and I was hungry, no lie), I sort of fished it out, wiped that sauce off the plate, and dropped the hair on the floor. However, as I was doing it, a person who seemed like management or the dining room shift leader or what have you came over to our table to ask how everything was. I told her that I found a hair in the sauce (not on it, IN IT) and the first words out of her mouth were, Oh no! Well, it was probably yours. That happens all the time. Ma 'am, I have blue hair. It would have been obvious if it was mine. It was not blue. I worked on food service for almost 10 years, and I was kind of shocked at this. At no point when I was trying to help manage the dining room would I EVER have imagined saying something like that to a guest. Normally it 's a situation where I 'd ask what I could do to fix it and replace the meal. But I guess different people have different approaches. I would go again, and hope that behavior from management doesn 't happen twice. Everything else was delightful, but that was pretty off-putting.
This place was amazing! The hostess and our waitress were so friendly and welcoming. The drinks were delicious, the appetizer was delicious, and the house salad was one of the best salads I ever had. Both main courses we ordered were phenomenal. I was so full of dessert, but we had to test it to see if it was as good as the rest of food and it was! Plan our next visit.
Came to the Stone Bar Inn on Saturday night for a solemn dinner. All of us from the host, to the waitress, to the other employees running around were absolutely delightful. we were blown away from the food! we had the fried mozzarella, French onion soup, prime rib and calf. all Entree was Top Notch, and the Martinis! we will definitely be back!
This was such an amazing dinner. Quiet, intimate, romantic atmosphere. Top notch service and hospitality. Our server, Allison, was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The food was impeccable. Best Duck I've ever had. The shrimp creole appetizer was flavorful and beautiful. The salads are amazing and fresh. Absolutely will be back.
