La Carreta Mexican - Summerville

I tried to clean off our table with a few napkins, but they quickly became soaked in grease. I couldn’t even rest my arms on my side of the table because of the old food stuck there, which I couldn’t remove with the napkins. When my husband inquired about a menu item he couldn’t find, the server gave him a half-hearted response, merely pointing and saying, “It’s over here” as he continued on his way. We ordered burritos and fajitas, which took an alarming 20 minutes to arrive, even though the restaurant was nearly empty at 9:00 PM. When our food finally arrived, it was edible but seriously lacking in flavor. I decided to use the hot sauce but was horrified to find that when I opened the lid, it was completely crusted with old, dry sauce and MOLD! We alerted our server, who took the bottle, wiped it with a napkin, and returned to claim it was a “new” bottle. My husband then asked for a different one, which he brought over, only to find it equally disgusting. Despite the terrible service and poor quality of the restaurant, we remained polite to our server and left a decent tip. However, we will definitely not be returning unless we suddenly feel the need to waste money on bad service and a dirty dining experience.

Ordered on line. Should not be a reason for lack of understanding on order. Ordered fried chimichanga with black beans. Received soft tortilla with no black beans and was cold. Empanadas was hot. Not worth the price but wanted to try. Probably not order again. To many Mexican restaurants to choose from that have not let me down. Nothing to brag about here.

I really like this place. Tops that chain La Hacienda any day. Better portions, nicer staff, and far better food. A good pick if you are looking for a Mexican dish and can 't decide. I 've enjoyed almost every time I 've come for dinner.

Good neighborhood restaurant with nice atmosphere. Free chips and salsa are served as an appetizer. We had the Carne Asada and the Burrito Bandeja which were both very good. The burrito comes with either chicken or steak with no extra charge for the steak option. Best part is that the bandeja or flag burrito actually looks like a Mexican flag!

Hire more staff. On a Cinco De Mayo you had literally 2 waiters. It took the table next to us 25 to get menus. One couple got there food after an hour and couldn't flag down a waiter to get a fork to eat it. We were there almost 2 hours before we got food. Staff was nice and apologetic but you gotta get them more help.
