The Burn - Sunderland

I made a reservation for a special anniversary meal for 4 people a few days in advance, in memory of my late father. A friend called to confirm the reservation but when we arrived, we were told the chef was not there and questioned about our reservation. It was disappointing and frustrating, so we ended up dining at the Copt Hill instead. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

I have passed by this restaurant numerous times in the last 7 years, always meaning to give it a try. Today, we finally did for Sunday lunch and it was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was wonderful. I feel bad for forgetting to leave a tip, but I will definitely remember to do so on my next visit.

Since the new ownership, this pub has drastically improved. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The service is quick, the food is delicious, and the restaurant is clean. It has become my favorite place to dine and I will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good spot to eat.

I stopped by for a quick drink and ended up having a great experience chatting with the staff, enjoying a couple of fresh pints, and indulging in a fantastic cowboy burger. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or passing through like myself. The landlord and staff should be proud of running such a well-managed and lovely pub!
