Marcello's Cucina Italiana - Sunriver

It was our last night in Sunriver after an incredible family trip to Ashland for shows and then here, for exploration and leisure. Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable and our meal was delicious and memorable. We ordered Osso Bucco, Salmon Picatta and the Mediterranean Calzone! Amazing! Of course, the wine, Tiramisu and Spimone were lovely!

If you’re in a hurry, maybe don’t stop here. But if you have time and a hankering for some yummy Italian food, definitely put this on your list. For a time reference, we were seated at 630 and left right at 9 after starters, salads, and the main course. Luckily we weren’t in a hurry and it allowed us to settle and enjoy our bottle of wine.

We sat for a very long time waiting foe our food and it seemed that the waitress was handling two sections that were far apart. Others were served much faster and the food was okay but not really good. I had the chicken parmasian

The carbonara was disappointing in taste. Also, we asked for no protein but it had what looked like chicken. My spaghetti marinara arrived with meat sauce. (We are vegetarian. Conversely, the servers were caring and willing. And the atmosphere is great.

$200 of disappointing food for a birthday dinner. Our waiter was in dire need of a shower and deodorant. Our $50 steak was inexplicably spicy burning both of our mouths to the point of not being able to taste anything after one bite. Shocking since requested no seasoning. Snarky unempathetic service from the waiter when requested that steaks be remade. Other dishes were mediocre. Not offered complimentary dessert for birthday despite noting at reservation and when arriving at restaurant. Would not recommend.
