Barnes Noble - Sunset Valley

I 've been coming here once or twice a month for the last 20+ years. The employees in all the areas have always been exceptional. Friendly and helpful. If I need to offer a con, it 's that sometimes, periodicals sit too long on the shelves before being rotated out and newer edition issues are either skipped or have the reverse problem of not being available for very long before being pulled. This has become less evident as of late so it appears it has been addressed. I appreciate this Barnes and Noble it is one of my sanctuaries when I need to wind down.

Not somewhere I'll visit again. The books I glanced at on the shelf were bent in several spots. The coffee was... Bad, but in addition to being bad, the cup rim was badly cut and leaked every time I tried to use a lid, I had to wipe away plastic bits to make the cup drinkable. I think there's a reason it seemed rather empty here. Points for being clean outside the cafe area, good manga selection, and I appreciate nobody spoke to me the whole time I was there, but it's still not somewhere I would actually visit to shop or get coffee.

This place is my safe space. One of my favorite pastimes in Austin is getting a drink at the cafe and finding my next read. I discovered books that I usually wouldn’t think to pickup. Going here always brings me joy and helps me get out of a book slump if I am in one. Not sure if it’s the layout, people, or employee rec notecards, but I really love the vibes of this B&N! The booksellers are kind and I like that and let you do your thing and are happy to answer any questions or give book rec. Also the stationary section is dangerously I want to buy everything I see

Very friendly staff at a great location. B&N offers you a tremendous selection of books in all genres for all ages. The starbucks is the perfect place to grab a drink and snack to start reading your selection or catch up with some work.
