When I first went to Sugar Island Bakery, I felt like family. This amazing group of people have created a cozy atmosphere of heaven on Topsail. If you do not love the delicious brownies or the incredible artwork of the owners' children, then you will win the sweet smile and warm heart of the employees. This is a must on the island. Get a snack, go upstairs and settle down with a great book. You won't regret it.

This is a wonderful place for a dessert, coffee and just relax. A very unique place to sit with tables and to read or eat. A wide selection of books. Also a wonderful gift shop and decorative items. All desserts are made at home. Don't miss this place in Surf City. I love it.

We are looking for a coffee shop for a week on the beach and were happy enough to stop in Sugar Island. The place made us feel at home... plus it didn't hurt that muffin and coffee for dying. Undoubtedly we are back before we go home!
