French Touch Creperie - Surry Hills

My family and I visited this restaurant purely for dessert and it didn't disappoint. We all ordered sweet crepes (I had the Bananarama) and they were all made fresh and came to us warm and dripping in homemade sauces. We all had a single serve each which was 2 crepes with your chosen toppings and chantilly, but there is an option to order a share plate of crepes to share with 2-3 people which is a great idea. They also have savoury crepes as well as actual French bistro style meals. The restaurant itself is a little dark up the back where we sat which made it seem a little dingy but overall our experience was a good one. I will definitely return with friends and try more of the exciting flavours!

I am writing this only because the restaurant was not honest. If after I had ordered they had come and said, sorry it is not eye fillet but a sirloin, do you still want it, my review woukd have been completely favorable. But they didn't and I noticed straight away. Plus the pepper sauce was bland to say the least... I make better... High notes, the French sauvignon blanc was exquisite and the escargot really yummy. Mr girlfriends goat cheese salad also fab. If I go back I will double check that the steak is as in the menu.

A very good French Restaurant in the middle of a very trending neighbourhood (Surry Hills). It's a very good option!!!

Wet Saturday night. Undecided about cuisine ... wander Crown Street and bingo! Found French Touch. Looked cool, casual and welcoming. Quirky, attractive decor included a compact sand-surfaced petanque/boule court - a bonus addition. Restaurant is set around a central bar area and kitchen is open plan. Julie the owner is the real deal - as is the chef - French, friendly and helpful. We abandoned our bottle of wine and ordered French rose by the glass - perfect. Menu was appealing and varied. Our gourmet crêpes choices proved winners and we backed up for dessert crêpes - again excellent. Ambience was just right and choice of music enhanced the setting. Service was attentive and efficient. This place will become a regular for us ... even if it's on the other side of the harbour! A great find - recommend this one.
