Okie Dokies Smokehouse - Swannanoa

I'm not usually a big fan of BBQ, but my husband is really into it. However, I must admit that this time it was delicious! As someone who's gluten-free, I found their gluten-free BBQ sundae to be perfect. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well...

Tough location! I stopped by after visiting the VA terminal nearby earlier today. I tried the larger plate, and everything was outstanding and just as I ordered. I'll definitely return. The meat was fantastic, and the sauces were incredible! Highly recommended!

This was the second restaurant we visited on our trip, and it was the highlight! Okie Dokie’s is located at 2375 US Highway 70 in Swannanoa, N.C., just off I-40 at Exit 59. We didn’t even think to try another place; it was that good. We were recommended this spot by Hoss from the nearby Harley Davidson dealership, and as my friend says, you always want to eat where the bikers go! We shared a full rack of ribs that were dry-rubbed, along with black-eyed peas, fries, chopped brisket with chips, coleslaw, and jalapeño hush puppies served with ranch dressing for dipping. Everything was delicious! You eat in or on the covered deck, but keep in mind that you’ll need to pay for your order at the window.

This used to be a fantastic BBQ restaurant, but unfortunately, that's no longer the case. My husband and I dined there yesterday and ordered the Smokehouse plates with beef, as we both have a food sensitivity to pork. However, we were served pork instead. As a result, we spent the entire night and most of today feeling unwell. We now feel we cannot trust the staff to provide us with the correct dishes we ordered, so we won't be returning. While it might not be a significant issue for others, pork seriously affects our health. This raises a serious safety concern for us and anyone else with food allergies or sensitivities.

Quick food now, order and pay outside before they let you in! Even McDonald lets you in. Get the pleasure to eat with people who need a beer, hear rock music, throw your own garbage, forget your own spices, refill, etc. I mentioned before you taste your food, they ask for a tip! I could do this, but not the beer, or the music! No place for a real Christian or even a nice family. So long
