Bidra med feedbackIn recent months, I started calling ahead before making the 8-mile journey to avoid disappointment. On one occasion, I was reassured that as long as I arrived before 1pm, I would be served. However, when I arrived with a friend at 12.50, the kitchen was already closed. The staff handled the situation well, but it was frustrating as there were no alternative options in Old Town. My frustration peaked two weeks ago when I arrived around 11.45-12 on a rainy day. The owner was holding a meeting, and he explained that the staff were sleeping off an event from the previous night. He pointed to a notice on the door, which I had not seen as it was lying on the wet pavement outside. In conclusion, businesses must be reliable to retain their customers. While I appreciate the concept of The Core, the inconsistent opening hours and 'gung ho' attitude towards running the business have made it difficult for me to continue patronizing the establishment.
I visited a cafe in Swindon to have a coffee and toast while meeting with clients. To my surprise, I was charged £8.25 for a coffee and two very small pieces of toast, which I found to be excessively expensive. When I tried to discuss the issue with the staff, I was ignored for 10 minutes before someone finally assisted me. I requested a receipt to understand the pricing, but was told they were not providing receipts due to a broken machine. I have evidence of my bill and a handwritten note from the staff. This situation is unacceptable and I demand a refund. I will be sharing my experience widely until this matter is resolved. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you, Rikardo.
I recently visited The Core with my dad for brunch and enjoyed some delicious fresh smoothies to kick off our trip. The food was so tasty that we decided to return the next day to try more items on the menu. As a fan of smashed avocado toast, I've tried many variations in different places, but The Core's version really stood out to me. The combination of mushrooms, rocket, and tomato with perfectly seasoned avocado was a hit. I also tried their vegan/plant-based version on pancakes, without eggs, and it was equally delicious. The smoothies were made with real fruits and vegetables right in front of us, unlike other places where they are pre-made or mixed with juices. Visiting The Core was not only a treat for my taste buds but also an investment in my health. I wish there were similar places in every town. I highly recommend visiting The Core and treating yourself to their delicious and nutritious offerings.
I went here around a year ago, my experience echoing a lot of the poor reviews here; snotty service, ridiculous waiting time for simple dish on a quiet afternoon etc etcWas craving some fresh orange juice today so thought I’d tolerate the pretentiousness of the whole gig and get a take out, only to be told at the counter ‘we don’t have any oranges.. because our juices tend not to be made with them we don’t usually stock them’Some ‘juicery’...To be fair this vegan bolthole had made some desperate attempts to diversify; a plethora of honey based products littered the shelves, behind the grubby leather sofas. You can even buy a ‘core’ branded reusable water bottle for £13.95, or some bamboo toilet paper.People claiming on here of being overpriced are deluded. The one thing in the core’s favour is the price worryingly cheap, and a non sustainable business model. This place will be gone in a year or two
Open only at lunch, we tried quinoa salad, verdurine and halloumi (a cheese) grilled and an avocado-based dish. They also sell bulk all kinds of seeds and dried fruit. Recommended.
