Bidra med feedbackI go to this location always, for my kids ice cream cake and just to pop in if we have time. If not, we’ll go through the drive thru. It’s a interesting time each time we go through the drive thru. I try and get every ones order before getting to the speaker but each time something changes. I ask if I can have a moment. I finally order and get to the window. I’m shocked at the previous review of the workers. I’ve gone all hours of the day and I have not come across anyone who is rude or doesn’t smile. Mind you if you go up with the expectation of being waited on by someone rude you are giving off those vibes and people pick up on that. I say hello and will ask for extra ketchup and salt and once I asked about ordering a ice cream cake with a picture, the young man was telling me but was unsure and in seconds the manager was at the window and spoke with me. They were both very nice and I had my answer. Even when it’s crazy busy they are still friendly. There are lots of places that have rude workers but this Dairy Queen on Grand Lake Rd always has pleasant staff regardless if you are going inside or the drive thru. My daughter worked fast food and I got an inside look at how much training they get, and how each person has a job along with many more things I had no idea. I’ve never worked fast food, but it is hard work and she would often come home and sleep rather than eat or sit and talk and she’s in great shape as a former soccer player. Fast food employees don’t get the recognition they deserve. You can also tip at the window, I had a crazy order and was able to use 2 coupons when we realised that they were closed. They work hard and deserve a tip just like any other food industry. This is my store and I can say that the staff are kind, helpful and if they don’t say hello maybe they are extremely busy, why not stop and say, “It’s pretty busy, you look like you need a break, can I ask you a question?” Give them a second to catch their breath. Also, the food is great. It’s nice to have your burger look like a burger instead of being tossed in and having to put in together. The meal for $7 or $8 is great especially when you have several kids. Off to order my yearly birthday cake.
I have a birthday boy who wanted an ice cream blizzard cake made of half Oreo and half Reese PB cups. So I called as asked if it was possible to get half and half, I was told yup no problem. Early the next morning I got a call from an employee who wanted to know if I really wanted both flavours. I said yes and I very much felt like I was inconveniencing this person. She told me there would be an additional charge, I agreed. I picked up the cake later that day. As we are eating it, were searching for the Oreo section with no pb cups, except there isn't any. They mixed both flavours together. This is not half and half, it was not what was ordered or confirmed by the lady who took my order and I was charged more. I am not impressed and will not order a cake from this place again.
I have visited this restaurant many times and it has always been a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. I would prefer to dine here over the Sydney River location.
I recently came across a review mentioning discrimination and price manipulation at this restaurant. However, I must say that my experience has always been welcoming and the prices have seemed consistent for all customers. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. This Dairy Queen has become my go-to spot for blizzards ever since my first visit.
Worst experience, fooling me specially the person in counter Akhikesh . I must say don't go there staff is egoistic , discriminate and try to charge more money. I will complain to regional office for this type of discrimination. Sydney river DQ is way better and they are professional.
