Bidra med feedbackGood upmarket Thai restaurant with backing from expat David Thompson. The basement dining room is dark and funky however some tables you find yourself stuck in little dark corners where no waiter can be found. The menu is very good with some great options however many dishes are very spicy - Thai spicy not Australian spicy therefore some may be put off by the intense heat. Highlights include the Fried Rice with Spanner Crab, Smashed Prawn Curry and the awesome Durian Ice Cream (using fresh Durian for Durian lovers only!) The two times I've been the service has been only average which is a shame considering the prices and small serves should command better. Casual Thai spot Home Thai is almost as good at a fraction of the price.
Very pricey and spicy! The pad Thai which I was told was a bit spicy was more like a medium to hot spice as was the chicken curry which was described as mild. I guess the heat factor is real Thai styles here! Too hot for me so I didn't enjoy the dishes as my mouth was on fire. Guys next to us we're offered milk to combat their spice.
I like this restaurant been there twice - the ambience is really nice it's got this upmarket Street look and feel. The service is great very attentive only challenge is that sometime you may get a waiter who is freak of the boat so communication can be a challenge - the should perhaps give you a local handbook to translate ????. The food is great - please Ginny the indications on the menu if it states spicy - it is and very - it will burn a hole in your stomach . They take their spicy food really seriously . I loved the prawn stir fry and their salads really nice tried the set meal gives you a good range of dishes to choose from . Pricing is fairly competitive if you enjoy Thai and Asian flavours a must visit .
Asian cuisine in the heart of Sydney. We ordered pad Thai, chicken and prawns. So hungry and we didn't take pictures of everything as we just wanted to eat! The prawns were spicy and the pas Thai was tasty too. The chicken I didn't try but my dining companion raved about it.
Excellent authentic Thai, however on the night we went the combination of Vivid and a show at the Recital Hall lead to very patchy service- One of our mains was forgotten and then the dessert took an exceptionally long time to arrive. Unfortunately this overshadowed the food, however I would recommend the Larp (not for the faint hearted) and the Chicken Curry was amazing!!! I will return and hope the service improves!
