Mama Mulan - Sydney

Nice eating and setting, but the service was shocking. we had an early reservation to dinner before a show, so was one of the first to sit. for a arrival, the most unfriendly person blessed us and lasted 5 minutes to find our reservation. we ordered cocktails to start just to say it would wait a 15 minutes while someone went to buy around and tequila. (this was a Friday night's birthday.) we were glad to wait, so we ordered to eat and asked them to exaggerate it after our drinks arrived. complete chaos. 25 minutes later came a cocktail, then all our food at once. When I asked them to bring our food out later, they refused and gave it all on the table. I had to constantly ask someone down to order a drink, clean bowls etc. it's such a shame because eating is really fantastic. we would have stayed happy and had a few drinks and spent a lot more, but the service was so bad that we just left. at $250 for 2 people I expect a little more.

Mediocre experience.We bought the fried pork ribs with garlic which had good flavour, but was not tender nor juicy.The pigeon was average. Nothing special to write about.The fried beans were probably the best dish of the night. They were fried well and had good wok-hei flavour.The brûlée was also average as it wasn’t smooth.The dishes overall were pretty average. What makes it worse it that the prices are extremely high for the same food and flavour that you can get at most Chinese restaurants, which are at a fraction of the price.The venue is nice and spacious, but the service is lacking at times as they are not that attentive. The staff also took 20 minutes to bring out dessert after multiple promptings.Overall, a poor experience at Mama Mulan. The food and service was average and the price was simply too high.Would not recommend.
