Bidra med feedbackThere is a fabulous Vietnamese restaurant in Castereagh Street Sydney, with a tremendous variety of dishes. Their Vietnamese pancake is light and crispy and filed with wonderful ingredients seasonings and crunch. Their salt and pepper squid and chicken is great, along with the rice paper rolls which you make yourself from beautifully fresh ingredients ! We have been many times with small and large groups everyone was happy with their dish ! The service is very attentive, helpful and happy, two young people there are delightful ! If we have one hopefully helpful criticism is that the kitchen seem to need more staff every time we have been there has been a very long wait even when we have ordered the food ahead. Finish with a lovely Vietnamese iced coffee in Summer great !
Three categories: Food great flavour, very nicely presented. WIne embarrassingly poor wine list with most wines unavailable. Pricing of the wines bizarre to say the least. Staff friendly but still of the group that prefers to spend time on their smartphone rather than being aware of the customers.
I've been there several times with my boyfriend and my friends. I'm Vietnamese so I can say that the food originally taste like in Vietnam, especially the South of VN (around 70% . It reminds me to my mom food every time I come. I'd recommend pancake, little pancake, vermicelli beef if you just want a single dish. Otherwise you should try some dishes which we usually have with rice. For example, you can order caramelised pork sweet and sour soup fried rice (fried rice is just additional choice as you will have steam rice when ordering caramelised pork . This combo is typical one of Vietnamese meal. It would be suited for 2-3 people. However, my boyfriend came with his friends in some lunchtimes and it's not really as good as expected with the service. The food's quality was the same but it came out very late while they were not really busy. That's a point they should review and improve on. Totally it's good place to have good Vietnamese food. Suits for people like quiet place as me.. You take time and enjoy food. No need in rush.
Three of us ate here and all of us enjoyed in very much. Located in Castlereigh Street it is just far away from the bustle of George Street to be nice and quiet. The decor is quite funky. I had the Crispy Chicken with chicken salad and tomato rice very tasty indeed, although the two chicken dishes didn 't quite work. The grilled octopus was tasty too and you could make your own rice noodle 'packets ' with this dish. Another of our party had the cashew nut chicken and was very satisfied. Staff were excellent and friendly. Our three meals did come out at different times which was fine by us.
Since re opening, I have visited this restaurant twice for work related lunches. I would rate the first occasion as fair. The staff were not able to explain the menu in detail which was inconvenient however the soup I opted for was ok. My companion did not enjoy hers. Our entree of pork spring rolls were nice. On the second occasion I popped past to order a quick take away which unfortunately turned out to be anything but. The restaurant was busy and there were only two staff serving the patrons. The other customers appeared to be quite flustered due to the long wait times. I ordered two servings of spring rolls and a can of soft drink. After 35 minutes I left with one serving of Spring rolls and a refund for the other. The staff were apologetic and provided me with two complimentary soft drinks however my Spring rolls were cold and the soft drinks room temp/hot. Probably not a place I would return to.
