Black Gold Brewing Company - Taft

This restaurant is an excellent choice for delicious food. The staff was incredibly friendly, and our meals were served quickly. We both ordered the Grundburger, which was absolutely delicious. It's definitely worth a visit. I also sampled a local beer that was highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. To top it off, I had the onion rings, making it the perfect meal.

I drove two hours to visit this restaurant based on the hours listed on Google. When I arrived, I found a sign on the door stating they were open Monday to Friday from 7:00-9:00 AM, 11:30 AM-1:30 PM, and 5:00-7:30 PM. Thankfully, I got there by 9:30 AM, but I ended up waiting until 11:30 AM, and the restaurant was still closed. I noticed some locals nearby, so I asked them about the situation and whether the restaurant was even open that day. To my surprise, they told me that the owner opens whenever he feels like it, so they couldn't confirm if it would open that day. Since it was only Monday, I felt it would have been helpful if the business had at least put a sign in the window to inform customers about any potential closures for the holiday week.

I frequently stay in Taft for work, and this place has become my go-to spot for a beer and delicious food after a long day. The beer is fantastic, reflecting the serious pride put into the small batch brewing here. Their classic IPA and milk stout are outstanding. The food is also excellent, particularly the Thai and Asian dishes. You can't go wrong with a stop here, whether you're a local or just passing through.

Our first impresion was negative we arrived in Taft around 8pm and were looking for a place for beer and burgers. Sounded like the Black Gold Brewing Company would be a perfect fit. But they closed at 8pm. A Brewery closing at 8??!!! We came back a couple of days later in the middle of day, seeking refuge from a rainstorm. The owner was extremely nice, the burgers were great (Lots of choices too) and the coffee was very good! Would have laved to try their beers but we were on motorcycles. Looks like I have to try again....

Great food, beer and people. Right next to the Fox Theatre makes for a perfect place to eat before a show take the whole family or go on a night out! Has everything from juicy burgers to fresh Thai food! It?s a must stop
