We ended up ordering crab with garlic and chili, house special duck, prawns with glass noodles, stir-fried beef fillet, steamed kangkong, Yang Chow rice, and Thai lemon tea for our drinks. My sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed the dishes prepared for us. Though the prices were a bit steep for us, we found them to be worth it, especially since it was our first time dining at Coca. One great aspect of Coca is its modern ambiance and unique dishes that blend Thai and Cantonese flavors, giving us a taste of Thailand. Additionally, the quality service from the staff was commendable, as they were dedicated and passionate about their job. In conclusion, I highly recommend Coca Restaurant to anyone looking for a good Thai-Cantonese dining experience with excellent service. Thank you, Coca, for a memorable meal.
We went out here for a night and we tried their groundless mojitos for only 299 pesos. the personal was very attentive.
That is actually a late review. I was happy to be one of the guests of the meeting and straight event organized by the coworkers of the looloo app, called looloo rendezvoos it was my first rendezvoos, which was for me a fairly open dining experience because. I never tried Thai food before, or even just a fusion of what concerns me. but I also like spicy food (or at least eat with something kick on it) so I enjoyed my first COCA experience. not to mention a good company of other Looloo reviewers coca’s kitchen is Thai Chinese fusion. the restaurant was founded in thailand by the 1950s, and now it has a handful of filials in selected cities in asia. if they cannot decide between Thai and Chinese eating, then coca restaurant is the place! our dinner consisted mainly of seafood: thai iced coffee 90) because I am a coffee girl. a pragmatic reason why I chose this is that I knew it had milk or looked inside. this (except the crushed ice) would help to alleviate the somewhat fiery feeling in my mouth after eating these spicy foods. I liked my coffee with a strong hauch bitterness, so that that was perfect. duck salat 380) first I thought that was thunfish or bark, but it was actually deen meat (all are anyway red meat.) I loved this salat cool and refreshing made by the watermelon and gurke. this dish helped to clean the palate after all these spicy things have eaten. salmon grapao 180) this was a bit too salty, at least to my palate, but the salate helped to cut the saltiness. this was rühr-gebratene bodenlachs (ground talaga he) with basilikum and a wedge from chili top, placed on a deep fried canton cup. it sat on an salate leaf. I ate the chili itself hahaha only to experience the whole taste of this plate. with salti 380) it had the right mosque, but there were a few crispy pieces and I didn't know what they were. No matter, that was a good haha. this is best if they work with the Yangchow rice. yangchow rice 220, small/320, large) had smoked fish bits that gave this rice a distinctive taste and aroma. I liked these. I am glad that this was not too salty or too tasteful and therefore it would supplement any dish. the man this is the Thai version of the hot pot. we were given two single bowls for each of us, the chicken broth and the other was the tom yum. the chicken broth was one of the mildest things we had there. as far as I am concerned, I added the hot chili sauce and it made the broth better for me. the tom yum was good. it was not only spicy, but also a little sour and a little fragrant at least to my mind. good combination. pacific sunset 1,950) was the obvious star in our table! this enormous plate consisted of living kings crab, tiger garnel, inkfish, blackworst, mais and a lot of seasoned. unfortunately I am allergic to crumbs and garnel, so I only tried the ink fish. this court has packed a whole wollop! that was spicy! hahaha, I liked it! the inkfish was not gumy or chewing. I would have enjoyed the whole court if not for my food allergies. galorgee 250, small/450, large) that is cocas signed dessert and there is no wonder why. that became one of my favorite dishes! crunchy, sweet, nutty, and the taste of sesame and the erdnus brought a wonderful combination. it's like our palate, but with a bang and kiss. the restaurant was boldly illuminated, I know that this sub-hearted type of lighting could turn off some people, but I liked it munter illuminated. there was a total intimate ambiente to the restaurant. a bit expensive for my standards, although many of the dishes were good for the exchange, including the pacific sunset. Restaurant staff were friendly, helpful and all smile. betsy, from the marketing team of the restaurant, was a really nice lady, it was a pleasure to meet her. I learned a lot of struggling (about eating and others) from her when we spit together. it was also a pleasure to meet other Looloo reviewers (although I wasn't able to talk to others at the other end of the tablehehe.) thanks to looloo and coca restaurant for this opportunity to have a unique culinary experience.
I've always had a fondness for Coca, called Coca Suki in Thailand, because of my few years working in Bangkok a while back. Much respect to the Filipinos who brought this to Manila as said group is behind leading restos like Mango Tree, Genki Sushi,...and one of my newfound faves now, Cocina Peruvia. Though Coca here is more modern looking, plus it has newer dishes and more twists to their dishes than the traditional ones I'd have in Bangkok. There, I'd have excellent shabu shabu, plus simple side orders of noodles, crispy pork belly (lechon kawali), cured pork (ala Chinese asado), and the like. Here, it's quite different, though the shabu shabu was still there and I enjoyed it, too. This was a sponsored dinner review last September in Coca. My apologies for the delay. Here I met again Betsy, the Marketing Officer for the Mango Tree group. First up we had appetizers: Salmon Grapow Cups (P180 for 5 pieces) I didn't even know it was salmon until Betsy told me. I think they're trying to make this like a ground pork appetizer, with tortilla cups. But I think it's a shame to make salmon taste like anything but salmon, so this was just okay to me. 2/5 Roast Duck Salad, P380. This was awesome! Loved the crispy skin and well flavored duck, with crunchy cucumber strips and watermelon chunks and a light dressing. Fantastic! Good starter, and price. 5/5 And then came the main dishes: Their specialty hotpot, Red Fire Platter (P1,400), with an assortment of meat, vegetables and glass noodles. They served us two choices of soup, a more traditional chicken soup type broth and a Tom Yum soup. The former was so mild, while the latter was so flavorful. Slightly sweet, just right sourness, and only a little spicy. Perfect. The assorted meat and vegetables were cooked well. This reminded me of those days I. Bangkok when we'd have Coca Suki almost every day since my colleagues love hotpot. For the tom yum soup, I'd give this a 4/5. I'd skip the chicken soup, unless you would want to enhance the broth with the provided chili paste and other spices. It's not bold enough. Maybe if you have a 2nd choice of soup as most hot pots nowadays feature, try the Yen Ta Fo soup which is described as bold and sweet. Coca Yang Chow Fried Rice (Large, P320) Here we are seeing the Chinese roots of the owners of Coca. Well cooked, right balance of saltiness and flavor. But not overpowering the main dishes, such a perfect complement. 4/5 Squid with Salted Egg (P380) Good price for the quantity. I was liking the salted egg flavor, plus the squid was properly cooked soft, but the salted egg I found a tad soggy. I like salted egg but it could have been executed better. I don't know if this is how it's supposed to be, but it's not my preferred execution. Flakier, some crunch here and there and more liquid than soggy is my go-to way of enjoying salted egg dishes. 3/5 Pacific Sunset (P1,950) My favorite dish of the evening! Live king crab, squid, tiger prawns, pork sausage and corn in a sauce they describe to be made of a hint of spices from around the world. How appropriate. Loving the spices, like a mixture of Thai and Indian or Malay. Yummy. A bit pricey but with the amount of seafood? Worth it! 5/5 For dessert we tried Galorgee, their signature dessert. It was crispy layers of rice topped with sugar, sesame seeds and peanuts. Though nice in texture, this was okay, but won't measure up with my other fave Thai dessert like Mango and Sticky Rice or Thako. 2/5 Coca is an excellent restaurant that features Thai food with roots in Cantonese cuisine. I like a lot of the new twists they have to offer. The service was excellent. Like I said earlier, this isn't the same as the Coca in Bangkok as its gotten modern and even their food has changed a bit. Good thing their roots in shabu shabu hot pot remains a constant.
