Bidra med feedbackAlright dining experience. We likely came on a busier than usual night. Wait staff was kind and attentive but fully backed up. Calling directly for a reservation is recommended. Street Ceviche was good and picante. The Aji Burger was solid but nothing too special. The fried plantains were good. The side room with the cool leather tables and woven seats was freezing. All seated in this room asked for the stove to be turned on. Thankfully it was turned on after we asked, but heating a room takes time. I recommend the staff consider this for busy nights.
I have been anticipating to come here for a very long time... but it was really a let down. I'm not sure about the locals, but by my experience growing up in a Peruvian household it was not authentic. There weren't many options on the menu, not all of it is necessarily typical Peruvian food. The food was okay. I had the Paella, which was basically spanish rice, mixed with a little bit of calamari, and four oysters. Seems like something I could make at home. The little thing of aji (chopped onion, tomatoes, lemon, etc. Was not as flavorful, but definitely added to the dish. As far as the presentation, the plate with the cloth and skillet looked nice and neat. The food itself was not presented in an impressive way but it was organized. Got the passion fruit cheesecake, it was good. My mom asked for one too, never ended up getting it. Dad got flan, it was forgotten about and we were not willing to wait for it so he got cheesecake too. Little bit of communication issuses... The restaurant was pretty empty, there was just a couple there. Very clean place, loved the decor, the art works. It was somewhat of an open concept design, since the kitchen was visible from my table. Customer service was fast, and wonderful. The waitress was very nice. Overall, my visit was exceptional. One thing I would like to add for those coming here in the future, is to make a reservation ahead of time, and to confirm it the day of going. Just because the restaurant isn't busy does not change the fact that reservations are needed.
This is my first time writing a review in google for a restaurant and they worth it. We found this restaurant during the road trip and we thought this is the best restaurant we ever had. Best paella and trout, better than the one in Santa Fe, and cheaper. We tried to figure out how to make this delicious paella the whole night in Taos, we want to make friends with the chef so they can tell me how otherwise I have to guess. Did they use the butter and milk or coconut? By the way, the dessert is very good with so many layer of the taste. We order the passion fruit cake with the jelly on the top amazing. If you want to know if this restaurant a good restaurant, the dessert is the best representative of a restaurant. I kind of know how to make that, we really want to have a conversation with the chef but I know is impossible anyway I wish the you guys all the best, you guys are the highlight of our trip.
Love this place, very delicious, salmon, steak and summer salad are great.
Fantastic, authentic Peruvian food. My wife and I have been to Peru and this place nails it. If you?re like ?I?ve never had Peruvian food before? then don?t ask questions and run to this place. It?s like no other cuisine of the world. Five stars this restaurant is.
