Lilo - Tappan

The outside decor looks like a conventional, ordinary pizzeria in a suburban neighborhood ... But inside, the place is very tastefully done, and gives you a very warm and cozy feel. Food is excellent, and because the place is rather small, service is very good and waitstaff is attentive. Main entrees hover in the $20+ range, so unless you 're there for pizzeria style food only, dinner can get pricey. Lilo perhaps consider a small and large portion price for your main entrees. (I never tasted the main entrees ... so I don 't know re quality. But the pizzas are outstanding, and the ingredients are super fresh.

This place refers to itself as a Pizza AND Bistro, and we enjoyed the Bistro part. Even though this place seems to do a tremendous amount of takeout business, don 't be fooled because they don 't let the Bistro take a backseat to the Pizza part of this place. The dining area is past the takeout counter and is a world all its own, very elegant, warm and well decorated, with a staff that takes a lot of pride in the place. It 's almost like a whole separate restaurant, albeit a small one The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the menu is extensive with so many delicious choices, not to mention the extensive wine and beer list. I didn 't have wine or beer though, but instead their signature Sangria, which you see in a large dispenser when you come in and is hard to resist. Also hard to resist is the dessert display they bring out at the end of your meal. Try the chocolate mousse it 's enough for two to share. The dining area is small and it will be difficult to have a conversation that you don 't want others to hear, but we enjoyed the place nevertheless. I would like to go back, and hope they keep that nice balance between the takeout part and dining room part.

We were looking for a local restaurant to take our Aunt out to dinner and keep the cost reasonable. We thought a pizza kind of restaurant would cover all interests. Two of us ordered pizza and it probably was the worst dough we have ever eaten. The Pomodoro pizza came with uncooked chunks of cheese on it which was completely un appealing and truly tasteless. I will say that our other guests who had pasta dishes were happier with their food but I personally would see no need to return. In today's restaurant world, there's so many places with fabulous and creative pizza I'd rather go. Please note though, that our spunky little server was very good and helped to make our evening reasonable. Kudos to her.

A great find for Rockland and nortern Bergen county! Thoroughly enjoyed dinner...chef was great!

Lilo was an unexpected surprise. You walk thru the pizza area to a small quaint dining area. Service Food were great. The waitress was very accommodating. Would recommend to friends and want to go back to try the pizza and the famous meatballs.
