The Winchester Arms - Taunton Deane

I received a warm welcome and the restaurant has undergone a fantastic renovation this year. I enjoyed the all day breakfast, which was delicious, a generous portion size, and excellent value for the price. The beer selection was also great. The menu is diverse and caters to both vegetarians and meat eaters.

We were there on a weekday and it was virtually empty. Very big place which is probably very busy at weekends, staff friendly, a number of beers were not available as they were awaiting a delivery but it was ok, only had a few drinks but not overly impressed by the ambience.

Had a meal last night at the Winchester arms the food was really nice which is more than I can say about the Grumpy landlord who didn't make use feel welcome at all now I can see why the pub was not busy so well done Grumpy landlord we won't be coming back as long as you are there

Stopped here for an early evening drink but as we were the only customers, they were just about to close. Sadly, the staff explained that their custom had been hoovered up by a refurbished Wetherspoons which had just reopened. Such a shame because this is a nice spot, very friendly staff and the beer was well kept and very reasonably priced. Will visit again when next in Taunton when hopefully it will be busier!

Very good pub for food and drink, friendly bar staff and the prices are very reasonable. Ample seating inside with some picnic benches outside. It is located just off the High St and well worth a visit.
