Lotus Thai - Taupo

The staffs are friendly and understand customer’s dietary needs. The tableware was clean and well-maintained. The service was great but the food was reasonable. The spicy level can be changed. It was so popular and I recommend you to book before visiting.

We came for dinner when the local veg place was closed, and we were quite happy with our meal. Though the menu doesn’t specify which items are vegan, the proprietor was quite aware which dishes were vegan, considering fish/oyster sauce, etc. NOTE: Some of the dishes on the “vegetarian” section of the menu (including the veg spring rolls) actually contain fish sauce of some kind, so do ask your server to be sure. We had the red curry and the tofu with cashews, both of which were delicious.

Really enjoyed this. The winner was cashew tofu off the vegetarian section of the menu. They also did pax Thai vegan for us (also yummy, though not quite as good). Fried vegetable spring rolls were also a winner. Highly recommend for vegans is Taupo.

What a great find in Taupo. The food was excellent and the flavors all blended so well. Very pleasant and attentive staff made for a definite repeat anytime...

Pretty good Thai food, not watered down in flavors. Best in Taupo for sure. Must try!!
