The Woolpack Shawbirch - Telford

I booked a table for 4 people on Wednesday at 18:30. There were not very many other diners. We ordered our food around 18:45 and it served around 19:30. One meal had incorrect type of chips (which the waitress knew when she served it! . That person had to wait for around 20 minutes for replacement chips! In the meantime her meal had gone cold (was served on a hot Skillet . Of the other meals, all the chips were cold. One was on a hot skillet the other 2 were served on cold plates. On these cold plates all the food was already cold when served! We were going to complain, but we decided that the queue to complain to the manager was already too long as most other tables us were complaining about very long waits for food and when it arrived it arrived cold. Some sent their food back! We will NOT be returning to the Woolpack again! PS: Following my feedback, I have received an apology from The Woolpack with an explanation of circumstances. I have been offered a generous contribution to a return visit. At this moment, I am considering it. I *may* give them another chance. If I do, I will post another review, whichever way it goes...

When we arrived the tables were split and not ready, but a staff member quickly changed it so we could all sit together at one large table for 10 people (4 put together . The meals then after the puddings were all brought out at the same time, all very good and hot. Also they bought out the birthday cake as requested along with plates and serviettes. Nothing was too much trouble, all in all it was a lovely family family afternoon spent together and very relaxed. (We have since placed an online booking for an evening meal, received the confirmation booking number on email, however when we arrived 15 minutes early we were told no table for us and nothing available for the rest of the evening as was a quiz night, so be aware the online booking system is not update automatically, we were told it takes a couple of hours, so this was very disappointing for us.
