Back East Bagels - Tempe

Drove 15 minutes out of our way to try this highly reviewed bagel spot only to find out that they ran out of bagels two hours before closing. How do you run out of bagels??? If you have such a high demand either make more or have your business hours open during a shorter amount of time.

When I moved back to Arizona from NYC I struggled to find a good place for bagels until someone recommended Back East Bagels. Their bagel sandwiches are the best. Thank you Brianna for your incredible customer service!

Went twice recently and both times I was disappointed. My girlfriend and I ordered bagels with avocado, and it ended up tasting like the prepackaged grocery store guacamole... Blech. The second time we went there they were turning customers away at the door because they were out of bagels. Bummer.

If you look at this place actually expecting a bagel like you had back east, you will severely be disappointed. Gave the traditional test of one bagel with scallion cream cheese and one bagel toasted with butter.The butter bagel was ok. Processing the fact that the bagels aren't cut in half.The cream cheese bagel was disappointing. Barely any scallions and the cream cheese was more liquefied which I didn't think could be a thing. I will give them an A for attempting to do the true Jersey smear.I will say this, if they start putting Taylor Ham in their circulation I will automatically add a star to this review
