Portillo's Tempe

The food is always great if they get it right. The team members always have a problem understanding and relaying the orders requested by guests.

Their Italian beef sandwich is like no other. It's a must have! And don't try to get it on any other bread than the hoagie roll it comes on. Quick service, and the number caller has fun with their job. Clean dinning room, never a lack of seating space. Vegetarian options: They have amazing chopped salads Parking: It's a very tricky parking lot, not many spaces for the size of the business

Lemon cake shake is so great! Almost like an ice cream. I can confidently say their salads are the best, including onions, lettuce, blue cheese, bacon, pasta, and grilled chicken.

Food was OK, but it's been better before. Service was decent, but seemed like they were overwhelmed with customers, and they needed more help. The building was being remodeled in places, and there were bare walls, showing studs and conduit. This was a bit strange to me. Given the dust on the surfaces, it appeared it had been that way for a while. And their misters were turned on, but it looked like half or more were not working correctly, just dumping water on the ground making a mess.

Nothing special! Hot dog was good, but have had better for less money in little hole-in-the-wall joints!
