The White Lion Inn - Test Valley

Excellent lunch at the White Lion with a mate after clay shooting at Owls Lodge today. This was the closest pub that was open on a Thursday lunchtime, so it was kind of pot luck, but what a lovely traditional pub. A very friendly welcome, a good lunch menu (we both had one of the superb home made pies) and a decent Adnams Ghost Ship low alcohol bitter (which actually tastes like beer) as I was driving. There’s a good choice of Ringwood Ales for those that aren’t. Every possible Covid precaution looked to be in place, thankfully there is sufficient space in the bars and outside areas for table spacing to work ok, without losing the feel of a proper pub. It’s about 40 miles from where I live, but I’m looking forward to the next opportunity to go back.

We had a lovely night. The owners are wonderful and to make Christmas Eve special we sang Christmas carols. I can’t recommend this place enough, awesome night out for Christmas. Thank you ????????????????????
