The Channon Butterfactory Tavern

Unfortunately the food here was terrible and pricey for what was dished up. Our meal took way too long to arrive. Would not recommend this place at all for food quality or service quality

Called in for lunch after an awesome visit to the Channon Markets. Glad we did so, the four of us had an enjoyable lunch, sat out on the sunny deck and could still hear the band playing out the front, there are ample spots to sit and easy to exit for a quick ciggie :-) There are even tables out on the lawn. Great atmosphere, great food, the best Caesar Salad Iv'e had in a long while (and it has an egg) yum.Service was pleasant enough however waitress dropped cuttlery & a piece of tomato off the plate while clearing (not a crime) but neglected to return to pick it up and to clear off the rest of our table, plates still sitting there when we left. I picked up the tomato as I didn't want it coming home with us. All in All a highly enjoyable visit, can't wait to visit again.We don't have young kiddies but something noticeable on heading out onto the deck from the dining area was an awesome Kid Area. What a bonus.

We stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting family in the area. Beds were comfortable but accommodation was basic and shared bathroom and toilet between 5 rooms not ideal.We would return if only other options in the area were busy or full. One plus is that it is very convenient for the Channon markets but recently these have been cancelled due to flooding so its best to check they are on before booking if your visit is for that purpose.

The monthly Sunday Channon markets were cancelled so my husband and I decided to go to the tavern for the afternoon for lunch and to watch the live music. We both ordered a burger, got a beer and put a game of Keno on while we waited. Usually the burgers are on Turkish bread, big and delicious but these were considerably smaller, tasteless and made with no love and served with a very large serve of chips to fill up the plate. After we had finished our bland burgers my husband went to the bar to check our Keno, put another game each on and get another beer. There was about 3 people ahead of him so he stood near the Keno machine waiting his turn but more people kept coming up to the bar and the bar attendant just ignored him and kept serving everyone else. It was quite obvious he wasn't going to get served because the barman thought serving people who were ordering drinks was more important. All in all, bad food and bad service so we left. We were going to spend the afternoon there but the bar attendant put a nail in that coffin and we won't be going back in a hurry!

While the meal was passable as a 'pub' meal the serving was tiny, entree size, at best and was priced like a full sized main (and was 'supposedly' on special) from a single hat restaurant. The menu was more than a little uninspired, again the typical pub fare, but again at a single hat restaurant prices. Sorry not a great review but truthful.
